28/365 (2010 Project 365) : You are Whatever a Moon Has Always Meant

The photo below was my view for most of the day - I spent a good amount of time today just resting on my bed. The light reminded me of the moon, which reminded me of one of my favorite poems by e.e. cummings, I carry your heart.

028/365 : You are Whatever a Moon Has Always Meant

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

I love how e.e. cummings portrayed love in this poem. It tells of a complete surrender to love, but without all the promises and pressures that we oftentimes assign to it.

Sometimes I wonder if and when I can be capable of feeling that kind of love again. I did, once, but as Paulo Coelho put it, "...at times love builds mortal traps and ends up destroying the person who has decided to surrender completely."

I am still hoping though that one of these days, I can, again.
