Christmas 2008 in Tokyo

Because I had work on the 24th and 25th, and since the 23rd was a national holiday, Marvin and I decided to have our Noche Buena one day early. I was a bit disappointed that I to work on Christmas Day, but as Marvin put it, we just have to get used to the life we chose.

Anyway, for our Noche Buena, we prepared Kung Pao Chicken&Shrimp Spaghetti and Chicken Pastel. Although I helped a bit, Marvin did most of the cooking. He doesn't do that often, so it was amusing and touching to see him just take control of the kitchen while I relax in the living room. And he did such a wonderful job! The pasta tastes just like the CPK version and the chicken pastel tastes very much like something my mother would prepare.

After dinner, we opened our presents. We debated for a while if we should wait until the next evening to open them, but I was too excited to wait. Haha! I got a set of plates that I could use when taking food photos, and Marvin got a new alarm clock and 2 neckties - perfect for his new job (starting January 5, congrats!). He's finally changed careers successfully from electronics to network engineering and is going to work for NTT now! Yay!

Although we already celebrated Christmas one day early, we still made time after work to hear mass in Roppongi then eat a hurried dinner at TGI Friday's on Christmas eve. Hurried because mass ended at 11PM and we had to make the last train at about 12AM. Hectic Christmas haha!
